7 Days of Glorious Info

So this last week has been pretty awesome! I had a super busy week and have lots to share.

Pinks Hot Dogs were pretty awesome last Tuesday. I had a Bacon Chili Dog. It was HUGE! I'm not sure I recommend it because of the size haha. But we had a pretty great time and it was awesome to see all the famous people that have eaten there. I definitely recommend the place because of the history.

I have found that no matter how people act to you--BE NICE! Just be nice to everyone. It will usually piss them off, so they will know how you feel. And you never know what is going on with them, so maybe they're just having a really bad day. But when you are nice to people they usually appreciate it. So, be nice. :)

The 101 heading into LA SUCKS! But I'm sure some people already know that. But still, just an FYI.

The traffic layer is the best thing ever invented. It WILL help you avoid traffic. Just make sure someone else can look at it for you, or plan your route before you leave. But I HIGHLY suggest using your traffic layer on your phone or GPS, it really does save time.

Vivoli's Cafe in LA is pretty awesome! Get the gnocchi, it's delicious.

The Pantages Theatre is wonderful! Pretty much every seat is great. It's smaller, so you can see everything! Go see a show there you will not regret it!

So I think Tuesday night dinner is being skipped :( Everyone is tired and has way too much to do. Sad day. But I will update everyone on this later.

I think that's all I have for now. I'll keep everyone updated! Have a great week!

This Crazy Week

So this has become a weekly blog. I am just way too busy to write in here every day. Sorry if I got your hopes up but this way, I have more to write about. :) So this is what has been happening, what I've been learning and so on.

We went to Mel's last Tuesday night for the Tuesday night dinner, it was AMAZING. It was so good! And we went to the one on Sunset Blvd. (where they shot American Graffiti!!) So that was pretty cool! We are going to Pink's Hot Dogs tonight, I'll let you guys know about how it goes.

I got to help out on a huge music video at my one internship! Word of advice: When you are going into an internship, ASK for stuff to do. That's how you get to do really cool stuff!

I got to read with a famous person in an audition. Word of advice: TALK about your interests (but don't talk their ear off) and your supervisors WILL take note. That's ALSO how you get to do cool stuff!

I tried a new sandwich shop in Santa Monica: Bay Cities. It is delicious! And it also fronts as an Italian/Greek grocery store. It is really cool for some authentic food. I highly recommend it! It's at 1517 Lincoln Blvd. Santa Monica, CA 90401 -- Go try it!

AVOID SANTA MONICA BLVD AT ALL COSTS! It is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! It took me nearly 30 minutes to go 3 miles! And it is apparently like this at all times of the day. So if you have to go somewhere, just stay off this road. I beg of you!

Putting Edge in Culver City is pretty cool. It's a glow in the dark putt-putt place. It's pretty small, but very cool. Everything is in highlighter colors and they play good music. If you are ever looking for something fun to do, I recommend them. It's a cool little place that you can go to with friends and have a good time.

I think that's all I got for now! I hope you find something useful in here! I'll talk to you guys next week!

My Firsts

So. This is my first post. I'm hoping to keep up with it. I am also hoping that people will find my blog interesting enough to continue to come back and read what I have to say. I decided to write this thing about living in Los Angeles for the first time. I'm finishing my last semester of college and am out here working at multiple internships while trying to navigate this city and still have a social life. So far, so good. My life has been super busy so this post will be pretty long.

The first exciting thing to happen to me in LA: I managed to fit all of my crap into my apartment! Here is some advice (specifically to girls): if you have to share a bedroom with someone, don't bring your entire closet with you. It's really, really hard to fit it into a small closet and then half a dresser. But the good news is, it can be done! Just don't expect everything to be "wear ready" --you are gonna have to learn how to use an iron!

Second exciting thing: In & Out! I hadn't had it in so long, I almost forgot how good it was! Anyone new to the area MUST try this place! I don't suggest eating it everyday, but definitely once a month. Trust me, you'll start to crave it. It's only burgers and fries, but, man, it's the best burger and fries I've ever had anywhere.

Third exciting thing: TRAFFIC!!!! Haha, just kidding, traffic was by no means exciting. But you must get ready for it. It happens at ALL TIMES OF THE DAY here! I mean literally, ALL DAY. It isn't as bad as some times of the day but you will hit a little bit any time you go.

Fourth: Tuesday Night Dinners with the Roommates! It's the best thing ever! We are attempting to try new places every week. I highly recommend this to new people. Find some girls or guys and get together at least once a week to go out and have some good food (hopefully). The places we have visited so far are: The ORIGINAL Big Boy in Burbank, Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles and tonight we are going to Mel's Diner. The first two are awesome! However, I do not recommend trying to eat Big Boy's Fried French Toast by yourself, you'll get sick. And Roscoe's chicken may look a little red, but it's delicious!

Some tips I have learned:

If you are going to Santa Monica, take the route that brings you to Gateway! One, it's shorter. Two, you get to pass Fox Studios and a huge Glee sign! :)

If you need to go places, STAY OFF THE FREEWAY...specifically the 405. You will be in a parking lot. But if you like parking lot traffic like a friend of mine does, then go for it, just make sure you bring a book like him too.

So that's what's been happening in my first few weeks of living in LA. I hope what I said was interesting enough to get you back on here tomorrow night. I plan to post every day on what's happening, what to avoid and what to definitely try!
